After the war, America developed quickly. Hollywood rose abruptly at the beginning. Idols, especially men idols, were popular among people. Dress of men idols became the most crucial impetus of fashion.

Finally, menswear led a completely new leaning. From 1980s, men began to pay more care and attention about their clothing and apparel. Neutrality appearance was popular with men of all ages. More and more brands were accepted by most men. Therefore, men began to change their dress artistically. Nowadays, this kind of dressing was instead identified as preppy by most young professionals. Although mainstream menswear clothing have drastically changed all throughout the years, but the fact still remains that the roots of menswear are clearly distinct and apparent in the recent times.
